Two makers, one island
Beauty of Tasmania is a small collaboration celebrating the island we call home, through a lens and a paintbrush.
A shared love of a wild, beautiful place
Beauty of Tasmania began as a way to share the island we love, not as one person's brand but as a house that can hold more than one pair of hands. Luke photographs Tasmania's wild light; Jo draws its creatures and places. Together we try to capture what it actually feels like to stand somewhere beautiful here.
Everything we make is designed and produced in Tasmania, printed to order so nothing sits in a landfill. Whether it is a five-dollar sticker or a framed print for the wall, we want it to bring a Tasmanian day back to you.
We would love for it to grow, in time, into a home for other Tasmanian makers too.

Sense of Wild Studio
Johanna Simkin
Jo is an illustrator working from her Sense of Wild studio. Her bright, characterful drawings of Tasmania's wildlife and places turn a walk in the bush into something you can pin to the wall, post to a friend, or stick on the fridge.

Luke's fine-art photographs are printed with archival pigment inks on cotton-rag paper by a Tasmanian lab, made to order and built to last a lifetime on the wall. Jo's illustrations are produced as bright, everyday art at a friendlier price.
Both are a genuine piece of Tasmania. The difference is simply how far you want to take it.

Keep Tasmania beautiful
Take only photographs, leave only footprints. To protect fragile places we sometimes keep exact locations vague, and a little of every sale helps us look after the wild corners we love.
